A woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by a Lowestoft man more than 20 years ago when she was a schoolgirl has denied making up the allegations.

Giving evidence at Ipswich Crown Court the woman accepted she currently had a number of loans but denied she had invented the allegations to get money.

Before the court is Adrian Cain, 51, of Northgate, Lowestoft, who has pleaded not guilty to six offences of indecent assault and three charges of indecency with a child.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between 1995 and 1997.

Giving evidence today (Tuesday) from behind a screen the alleged victim broke down in tears as she was cross-examined by Cain’s barrister Matthew McNiff about the allegations.

“You have accused him of touching you sexually and he says that’s not true. He says you are making it up,” said Mr McNiff.

The woman denied making up the allegations and said although she had some loans she wasn’t lying to get money.

The trial continues.
