A would-be burglar pushed his way into a house in Exeter Road, Newmarket, between 8am and 8.30am on Friday harming the owner of the house, who was hiding behind the door.
Police said the woman was knocked to the floor and suffered bruising. The criminal, who is not thought to have taken anything, was in his 30s, of large build, and was wearing a black hat and a dark blue or black Puffa-style jacket.
