A WOMAN has been taken to hospital today after trying to cross the A14 on foot.
She tripped while walking across the dual carriageway near Sproughton and was in collision with a car at just before midday.
The road was closed in the area in a Stowmarket-bound direction while emergency services dealt with the accident.
The air ambulance was called but later stood down and the woman was taken to Ipswich Hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
The road was reopened by 1pm.
