Woman injured in car park accident
A WOMAN has been seriously injured in a “bizarre” accident in a supermarket car park in north east Essex.
A WOMAN has been seriously injured in an accident in a supermarket car park in north east Essex.
The collision happened in the Sainsbury's car park in Stanway, near Colchester, shortly after 4pm this afternoon when a silver coloured Land Rover Discovery was being parked in the middle of the car park.
A police spokesman said: “The driver appears to have lost control and struck a woman. The 43-year-old woman form the Clacton area was conveyed to Colchester General Hospital after sustaining a serious head injury.
“She is currently in a stable condition.”

The driver of the Land Rover, a 53-year-old man from Kelvedon, sustained minor leg injuries and drove himself to hospital for treatment.
Police have appealed to any shoppers or motorists who witnessed the incident to contact investigating officers at Stanway Road Policing Unit on 0300 3334444.
