A lifeboat crew was alerted to a report of a woman face down in the sea in north Suffolk last night.

The lifeboat crew were called at 9.07pm to the incident off North Beach, Lowestoft, but were stood down before launching.

The woman was reported to have got out of the water and was on the beach breathing and awaiting the arrival of an ambulance.

The RNLI and East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
