A volunteer critical care paramedic from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) helped treat a woman who had suffered a cardiac arrest this afternoon.
The woman, who was in her vehicle at the time of the incident, was treated in a layby between Bramford and Sproughton near Ipswich around 12.40pm.
The SARS CCP, working with a paramedic from the East of England Ambulance at the scene, helped resuscitate the patient who was in her 60s.
A team from the Essex Air Ambulance subsequently arrived at the scene and accompanied the patient, who was still in a life-threatening condition, by land ambulance to Ipswich Hospital.
