A woman is due to appear in court charged in connection with the death of a 74-year-old man, who was killed in a road accident in St Osyth.

Kellie Tandy, 36, of St John’s Road, Clacton was arrested at the scene after a car struck a pensioner on Clacton Road, before crashing into a pub.

The collision, which happened on Thursday, May 11, 2017, killed 74-year-old grandfather Ronald Ramsey, who was walking his dog Bobby at the time.

Paying tribute to their beloved relative in the wake of the tragedy, Mr Ramsey’s family said: “As we struggle to understand the devastation we have been left to deal with, we take strength knowing what high regard friends and villagers had for Ronnie, my Dad and brilliant grandad.

“Thank you for all your sincere thoughts.”

Tandy will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 4 where she will be charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen, and driving without insurance.
