A woman is trapped in her car after it tipped on to its side during a crash in Suffolk.

Emergency services were called to reports of a two vehicle collision just outside of Thurston, near Bury St Edmunds at around 12.40pm today.

A blue Nissan Note had collided with a black Nissan Note at the crossroads to the south of the village.

The woman, who was in the blue car, was reported to be trapped in the vehicle.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service has sent crews to help cut the casualty free.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said the woman’s injuries were not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

The occupants of the other vehicle, an older woman and a child, are not thought to have been injured.

Police said the accident had caused traffic to become congested in the area.
