Community groups looking to launch new projects in east Suffolk have been urged to take advantage of a fresh pot of council money.
Suffolk Coastal councillors in Woodbridge each have £4,000 to allocate to worthwhile projects or community groups in the town and are keen to hear suggestions from people.
Riverside ward councillor Geoff Holdcroft said: “As a council, Suffolk Coastal is committed to supporting local communities.
“This fund now gives us, your local ward councillors, the ability to have a direct, positive impact on our community.”
The Community Enabling Budgets, which Mr Holdcroft said had been designed to be accessible “without getting bogged down in red tape” should be used to stimulate new initiatives rather than funding existing services.
“As ward councillors, we will be working with local people to identify and deliver what our community needs and making sure is successfully delivered,” Mr Holdcroft said.
To suggest a project contact Mr Holdcroft on 01394 610548. Woodbridge councillors Diana Ball, Les Binns and Josh Sayles are also keen to hear from people.
