Three fire engines were called to the Thoroughfare in Woodbridge for a house fire.

A crew from Woodbridge, one from Ipswich East and one from Princes Street were called to the scene at around 6.15pm and spent just less than an hour fighting the flames.

Two people had to be led to safety from the two storey building and one male suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns to his hands. The fire began in the kitchen.

Salvage is being carried out.
