A group of volunteer medics gave out lifesaving tips to garden centre shoppers in a Suffolk town.

The Ambassador Team from St John Ambulance taught members of the public about the importance of first aid during a demonstration event at Wyevale Garden Centre, in Grundisburgh Road, Woodbridge.

Visitors saw demonstrations of essential first aid skills, including CPR and the recovery position.

The team was also on hand to answer questions on the lifesaving work of St John Ambulance.

The Ambassador Team was created in January 2012 to help promote the importance of first aid knowledge and to encourage more people to learn vital lifesaving skills.

Alan Jackson, who leads the Ambassador Team, said: “Learning first aid is something which everyone should be encouraged to do. There’s nothing like knowing that you have the ability to save someone’s life in an emergency.”
