A group of youngsters showed their appetite for working in the food industry as part of a campaign to tackle youth unemployment.

They visited Woodbridge PR and marketing firm Kendalls for a half-day workshop introducing them to branding, marketing and public relations, and giving them the chance to talk to employers about CVs and interviews.

The workshop was part of the Feeding Britain’s Future initiative, organised by the Institute of Grocery Distribution.

Andrew Kendall, managing director of Kendalls, which specialises in food, farming and the environment, said: “The food, farming and grocery industry is the UK’s biggest private sector employer, providing 3.7m jobs, and there’s a huge range of careers on offer.

“By participating in Feeding Britain’s Future we shared some tips on general interview skills and writing your CV, as well as opening the eyes of some young people in Woodbridge to the opportunities in our sector.”
