A MAN suffered serious back injuries today when he was crushed on a construction site near Sizewell power station.
A MAN suffered serious back injuries today when he was crushed on a construction site near Sizewell power station.
The man, who is in his 20s, became trapped between a cherry picker and a metal girder at around 3pm today.
Firefighters had to cut the cage on the hydraulic platform so he could be placed on a spinal board.
The incident took place on the Seeza site compound near the Vulcan Arms pub, which is located between Sizewell A and B.
The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital, where he is being treated for “life-changing injuries”.
The compound has been secured and a Health and Safety Executive investigation is due to take place tomorrow.
