FOUR fire crews have tackled a blaze involving a thatched cottage.
Crews from Colchester, Nayland and two from Subury in Suffolk were called to a cottage in Church Road, Wormingford, shortly before 2.10pm.
On arrival they found that the roof of the property was alight.
The fire was put out by 3.15pm after crews used three hose reels to tackle the flames.
Salvage operations were in place and crews have no left the scene.
