Three acts with Suffolk or Essex connections have made it through to the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
In last night’s episode of the ITV talent search, viewers saw Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams selected their top choices to make the semi-finals stage.
Among those to progress was Essex teenager Harry Gardner, who was sent through by Alesha,
The 16-year-old, from Writtle, near Chelmsford, who previously left the judges in tears, with a song he had written for his grandmother, Maureen McGuinness, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s three years ago.
Also sailing through was the Missing People’s Choir, which has among its membership Nicki Durbin, the mother of Luke Durbin, who has been missing since May 2006, when he was last seen in Ipswich.
Speaking earlier this month, Nicki said: “It would be truly wonderful for families like mine if the public would put their support behind this single and show the world that Luke and all these missing children are not forgotten.”
They will join Stowmarket magician Matt Edwards whose place in the semi-finals was already assured after hosts Ant and Dec pressed their gold buzzer.
The live final will see Little Mix join forces with former Britain’s Got Talent dance stars Diversity for a special performance.
Britain’s Got Talent Live semi-finals air from Monday May 29 to Friday June 2 at 7.30pm on ITV, followed by Britain’s Got More Talent, also live, on ITV2 at 10pm.
The grand final takes place on Sunday June 4 on ITV, with the winner bagging £250,000 and a slot at The Royal Variety Performance.
