PANICKED motorists dialled 999 after being confronted by a woman driving the wrong way down the M11.
Essex Police received numerous calls at 7.25pm yesterday after the black Peugeot 307 was spotted driving north on the south-bound carriageway.
Another driver eventually managed to get the driver to pull off the road close to the roadworks north of Stansted Airport.
Police have charged a 42-year-old woman from Enfield with drink driving and she is due to appear at Harlow Magistrates’ Court next Wednesday.
