Young people interested in local government took their seats for the first time as the newly-elected Young Essex Assembly met (YEA) at the weekend.
The YEA sees 75 people aged 11-19 meet to influence Essex county councillors and lobby government on key issues.
Ray Gooding, county councillor for education and lifelong learning, said: “It was fantastic to meet the YEA and I look forward to working with them.
“It has a crucial role to play in providing a link between young people and local government.”
