Part of the excitement of the week for youngsters involved in the Celebration of Schools Music at Snape Maltings Concert Hall has been to experience the life of the professional performers who have graced the venue’s stage over the decades.

A Snape Maltings spokesman said: “The schools will be treated in the same way as any professional ensemble performing on the Concert Hall stage; with their own dressing rooms, crew and technical rehearsals.”

Around 1,400 performers from 44 state-funded schools representing primary, secondary and special schools, are performing music that they have chosen and prepared themselves.

Schools taking part yesterday included Debenham High, Kersey CEVCP, Thomas Wolsey, Cliff Lane Primary and St Joseph’s RCP School.
