A YOUNGSTER from Essex has had his arm crushed by a falling boulder.
The accident happened to 11-year-old Nicholas Kemp, from Coggeshall when he was staying in the Dorset resort of Lyme Regis.
Nicholas had been walking at the foot of cliffs with his family when the rock fell and “shattered” his elbow.
A spokesman for the local coastguard said the rock, which was about 50cm long and 3cm wide, fell about two metres from Church Cliff, hitting his elbow during the incident yesterday.
He was taken by helicopter to nearby Dorchester County Hospital where his arm was set in plaster.
