Pupils from Abbots Green Primary School are using Green’s Wood, located behind the main building, for a range of activities including den building, making bird feeders, toasting bread, and creating artwork.

The idea became a reality thanks to a partnership with Suffolk Housing, and Jo Churchill, MP for Bury St Edmunds, visited the its headquarters on September 22.

She also joined the children to help them clear and refill the pond as well as strip back nettles which have grown over the summer holidays.

Ms Churchill said: “It was fabulous to join the children of Abbots Green School outside in the sunshine, clearing the pond and looking at bugs. Green’s Wood is a great open learning environment.”
