IPSWICH TOWN: Have you ever fancied playing against Ipswich Town?

Here’s your chance!

Manager Roy Keane is taking his Blues to Chantry Park, Ipswich to play a 20/20 cricket match against Ipswich and East Suffolk CC on Friday July 23 with a 6.15pm start time.

And the cricket club has left one space vacant in their team to play against the ‘big hitters’ from Portman Road.

This has been left open to the highest bidder in an auction that is taking place on the IES website www.iescc.co.uk.

Town fans wanting to make a bid and to join forces with Ipswich and East Suffolk to try and lower the colours of the footballers should make their bid along with their name, address and home phone number by e-mail to iescc2020@virginmedia.com.

Proceeds from the game are going to one of Ipswich Town’s nominated charities – Cancer Campaign in Suffolk – with a unique framed shirt worn and signed by Australian cricket legend Shane Warne the coveted prize in a special raffle.

Entrance and parking are free to the cricket game with the entrance off London Road, Ipswich.

Over 1,000 spectators attended cricket games played by the Blues at Chantry Park in 2007 and 2008, and a bigger audience is expected this time with the score currently standing at 1-1 and both Ipswich Town and Ipswich and East Suffolk keen on taking control of the trophy this time.

Raffle tickets are available from the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk office at 39-41 Elm Street, Ipswich (01473 211884).
