ARSENAL'S William Gallas is unlikely to face FA action over his x-rated tackle on Bolton Wanderers' Mark Davies in last night's 4-2 Barclays Premier League win at Emirates Stadium.
New Wanderers boss Owen Coyle was left fuming by the challenge which happened in the build-up to the Gunners drawing level at 2-2.
Coyle described the tackle as “akin to an assault” and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger issued an uncharacteristic apology. Davies suffered severe ligament damage and is awaiting results of a scan to determine if there is any break.
It is understood that referee Alan Wiley allowed play to continue, having viewed the challenge as a coming together. As such no separate disciplinary proceedings can be implemented.
