Peterborough United have appointed Jim Gannon as their new manager following the sacking of Mark Cooper yesterday.
Gannon will be unveiled as the new Posh boss later on today after the London Road club decided to dispense with Cooper's services despite only giving him 13 matches to establish himself.
Gannon took Stockport County to the League One play-offs in 2008 before taking charge of Motherwell where he oversaw a Europa League campaign.
He told the Peterborough website: “It is a fantastic opportunity and I am excited, not just because of the opportunity, but the challenge of trying to bring some good football to Peterborough.
“My philosophy is good passing football, it is how I believe the game should be played and it brings out the best in players. It inspires them and motivates them to play football in the right manner.”
