Bracknell Town's joint-manager Carl Withers says his side have the players to hurt Ipswich Town in tomorrow night's David vs Goliath FA Cup First Round clash.

The Robins host Town live on ITV 4, hoping to spring what would be one of the biggest upsets in FA Cup history - they're a Step 3 non-league outfit, who sit more than 100 places beneath Ipswich in the football pyramid.

But the upwardly mobile side enter the game with confidence high - they're unbeaten since the end of September and have scored 48 goals in 19 games so far this campaign.

And Withers, who leads Bracknell with Jamie McClurg, said his side will look to put the pressure on heavy favourites Ipswich.

"With the greatest of respect, we're playing against a football league side - so our tactics on the night might be slightly different than when we're normally at home," he explained.

"But I think, us as managers and who we are, we've just got to have a go and what will be, will be.

"If we give them all that respect and ask them to break us down, I just don't think that's going to excite the fans and give the public watching the game of football that they want to see.

"It's a one-off game and I look at it as a free hit.

"I believe that the club has won, irrespective of the result - we'll be telling them on the night to just go out there and enjoy the occasion.

"I know it's a cliche to say 'play the game and not the occasion' but do you know what, play the occasion - this will probably never happen again, so let's see where it takes us on the night."

Withers said that he and McClurg have plans in place to unsettle Town, especially having watched the 4-4 draw at Charlton last week, where the Blues twice surrendered a two-goal lead.

He added: "I was certainly watching the Charlton game, and we've got some ideas where we think we could possibly exploit Ipswich, and rightfully so - whilst we are a non-league club, we still believe we have players in our side who can hurt Ipswich.

"We've done our homework and we've got some ideas. I don't want to give too much away, but hopefully on the night that comes to fruition."

Asked which of his players will be key on the night, Withers picked out a trio.

He said: "We've got Jordan Esprit, who's our number nine and striker - he's just a real thorn in the side for anyone to play against.

"He's hard-working, tenacious, knows where the back of the net is. He's a proper number nine, loves a challenge.

"We've got Dan Bayliss, our captain and centre-half, Mr Reliable, a very, very good player.

"And we've got a local lad Joe Grant, who's just come back from a 12-month lay-off with an ACL injury.

"He's getting stronger every day and always plays with a smile on his face, a right old character and we love him dearly.

"I could speak highly about every single player, to be honest."

While Town's players are full-time professionals, the Robins don't have that luxury.

So how will Withers and his side approach Monday, a normal working day for most of the team?

"I'll be working in the morning - I wanted to try and make it as normal as possible, otherwise I'd be pulling my hair out," he explained.

"We wanted to try and make it as normal as possible - we've got a local hotel which is kindly putting us up in the afternoon and I think we'll be looking to get there mid-afternoon, go for a walk, have a bit of a pre-match meal, get everyone together.

"I'm sure if everyone was sat at home they'd just want to be amongst the lads.

"So we'll try and be as normal as possible - we'll get together, get a coach to the ground and then start focusing on the game."
