Ipswich Town goalkeeper Christian Walton has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
The Blues took up their one-year extension option in the 28-year-old's previous deal this summer, but have now moved to tie him down until 2026.
He joins Wes Burns in putting pen to paper on new terms this afternoon.
Walton initially arrived at Portman Road on loan from Brighton at the end of a busy 2021 summer transfer window, reuniting with former Wigan boss Paul Cook.
He was signed permanently by Kieran McKenna the following January and played a key role in the Blues' League One promotion winning season of 2022/23.
The Cornish custodian suffered a foot injury on the eve of last season and subsequently couldn't get back in the team due to the impressive form of Vaclav Hladky.
Hladky departed this summer, but Ipswich signed Aro Muric as their new first choice keeper from Burnley. With Muric injured, Walton made his Premier League debut in an opening day 2-0 home defeat to Liverpool, producing a solid display. He was subsequently on the bench for games against Man City and Fulham.
“I’m delighted to have extended my contract with the club,” said Walton, speaking to the cub website.
“I’ve loved my time here since signing on loan in 2021 and to have been part of the journey to the Premier League, winning back-to-back promotions with a brilliant group of players, has been really special.
“Making my Premier League debut against Liverpool on the opening day of the season was a proud day for me and I am pleased to have committed my future to the club further.”
