Ipswich Town fell to 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest thanks to Chris Wood's second-half penalty. Alex Jones provides his player ratings.
Arijanet Muric
Nothing he could've done about the goal, of course, but commanded his area well and made a superb stop to deny Murillo. Would've been game over if that went in. 8 (Man of the Match)
Axel Tuanzebe
Early booking could've made life hard up against Callum Hudson-Odoi but he handled the battle well for the most part. 6
Dara O'Shea
Got stuck in and handled the pace of Forest's wide men well. A threat from set pieces, but they just aren't falling for him at the moment. Completed the most passes of everyone on the pitch. 7
Cameron Burgess
Passing was hit and miss at the start of the match but improved. Defensively strong and excellent in the air. Had a header cleared off the line - Town could have picked up a positive result if that went in. 7
Leif Davis
Limited from open play - felt like he worked himself into good areas but couldn't get much further. Corners were good but had little help in the box. 6
Sam Morsy
Fortunate to avoid a booking but otherwise another impressive performance in midfield. His movement on the ball is always exceptional, but occasionally stuggled to link things together like he usually does. 6
Jens Cajuste
Smooth, calm and composed as always. Perhaps fortunate that he wasn't penalised for a strong challenge on Chris Wood inside the box. 6
Omari Hutchinson
Clearly full of confidence after his first Premier League goal. Some nice link-up play but found it tough to break through and create too much. Good work off the ball. 6
Conor Chaplin
Some really nice play dropping deep, but there wasn't much that clicked for him in the attacking third. 6
Sammie Szmodics
Worked hard but was really limited to little in attack. Left a trailing leg on Jota Silva that eventually saw Forest win a penalty that decided the game. 5
Liam Delap
A couple of nice moments on the ball but Ipswich didn't do enough to get him in the game. Needs to limit his aggression as he was very lucky not to be booked. Lost quite a few duels across the 90 minutes. 5
Sub: Jack Clarke (64’)
Just doesn’t seem to suit coming off the bench. Looked a little too slow when Town needed pace in the dying minutes. 5
Sub: Jack Taylor (74’)
Tried his best to drive Town forward but ultimately couldn’t do too much. 6
Sub: Wes Burns (74’)
Got into good areas but his deliveries weren’t threatening enough. Feels like he’s lost some of his pace since getting injured. 6
Sub: Harry Clarke (79’)
Comfortable on the ball and was able to pick up where Tuanzebe left off. 6
Sub: Nathan Broadhead (79’)
Played his first Premier League minutes for Town as a no. 10. Didn’t really get much time or space on the ball. 6
