Colchester United boss, John McGreal, has revealed that he would like to sign one other player before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Speaking at this lunchtime’s press conference, ahead of the opening day clash at Accrington Stanley, McGreal explained that he would like to sign a player on loan, although that would almost certainly require a player to be off-loaded on loan elsewhere.

McGreal said: “The summer has gone in the blink of an eye, but we’ve had a really good pre-season with the boys.

“You give contracts to boys and it’s their decision whether they sign or turn it down.

“Unfortunately, a couple of boys left (Chris Porter, George Elokobi and Richard Brindley all turned down the offer of a new contract), but that gave us room to bring one or two in.

“Again at this moment we are looking possibly at another body to come in.

“But for that to happen, we will probably have to move one out.
