Ipswich ‘Sackers’ Witches reserve Adam Ellis is looking forward to not only racing again for the Witches in 2014, but copying his teenage team-mate Cameron Heeps.

Heeps, in his second season with the Witches in 2013, upped his average considerably, something Ellis hopes he can do too.

“Cam had a brilliant year last year and I want to try and do that,” Ellis added.

“It was great to see him improve so much and I know I can do the same.”

As well as Ipswich, Ellis will also be riding in the Elite League next year with Lakeside Hammers.

The French-born English racer was one of the Hammers two ‘picks’ in a new draft scheme that sees each EL club with two National League British reserves in their team.

And while he is delighted to be getting the chance to race in the Elite League, he is even happier to be back at Foxhall.

“I always wanted to come back in 2014, I really enjoyed my year this year,” he said.

“I felt I did ok for the first season and as a team we did better than I thought we would at the start of the year.

“It won’t be easy to do as well, but we have another good team put together and Richie Worrall was absolutely flying last season, so he will be a great rider to have in the team.”

Meanwhile Worrall is hoping that, despite the inexperience in the Witches 2014 line-up, it will be a successful season for the Foxhall Heath club.

The 22-year-old from St Helens admitted to being ‘excited’ by the new Witches septet but he is also aware the team that will race for the Witches next season is young – with five riders 23-years and under.

“It looks a good team and plenty of riders who know their way around Foxhall,” Worrall said.

“Me and Gino are the only new boys, but Gino knows his way around small tracks, so he will soon get used to Ipswich.

“The only thing I worry slightly about is the lack of experience in the side. It’s a young team, but hopefully the likes of Chris Louis will be about most of the time. And Morten Risager has ridden for a few years now.

“I can’t wait though, it’s an exciting team.”

Worrall is owned by Belle Vue and was announced in their side recently. To make it a treble, Worrall is also racing for Daugavpils in the Polish First Division.

“I signed a contract with them this week, so it’s a busy season, but I like that.”

Meanwhile season tickets are now on sale for the 2014 season at Foxhall.

Renewal forms will be sent out to all 2013 holders by email or post. New application forms can be downloaded on the team website (www.ipswichwitches.co). Or you can pay for your season ticket(s) at the Supporters Club AGM on Tuesday, December 10, or Foxhall Stadium on the following Saturdays: December 14, December 21 and January 12, 10am-1pm.

There is also an online payment option to allow the use of debit/credit cards.
