Dzeko remains the Rossoneri's top summer target but they may have to look elsewhere.
“If we fail to get Dzeko then [the Sevilla striker] Luis Fabiano could be an alternative - as could Adebayor,” said Milan's vice president Adriano Galliani.
Milan expressed interest in the Togo international last summer but Arsenal still want to keep the 25-year-old striker.
“We had a meeting with [the Arsenal coach Arsne] Wenger, but they didn't offer him to us. Had they done that, we would have entered talks.”
Meanwhile, Robin van Persie is poised to sign the new four-year contract that he agreed in principle with Arsenal some months ago.
