Grundisburgh 1 Woodbridge Town 4

WOODBRIIDGE Town eased to victory to condemn Grundisburgh to their second final defeat in the space of four days.

All the goals came in a 20-minute spell in the first half as the Ridgeons League Premier Division side raced into a commanding 4-1 lead against the Omnico Cup runners-up.

Lewis Driver toe-poked Woodbridge ahead in the 19th minutes after controlling Jordan Seaman's cross, and Aaron Churchyard fired home after Grundisburgh could only partially clear Glenn Snell's free kick four minutes later.

Former Woodbridge player Steve Dearsley gave the SIL champions a lifeline when he powerfully sidefooted home Lee Grimwood's cross in the 27th minute.

However, Woodbridge restored their two-goal advantage a minute later when Mark Scopes' shot hit the base of Glyn Dixon's right-hand post and entered the net via the prostrate keeper's body.

The contest was as good as over when Oliver Canfer turned smartly in the box to lash home a loose ball following a 38th minute corner, although Jay Churchyard provided a constant threat for the village side in a low-key second period.
