The Newmarket based rider finished 2nd to Chris Hoy who won one of four gold medals for Britain today.
The other three were won by Rebecca Adlington in the swimming 800 meter freestyle, which she won in world record time, Bradley Wiggins struck gold in cycling's men's individual pursuit and in rowing Britain's men's four came home first after a thrilling race with Australia.
