A 14m deal which would see the striker move from Zenit St Petersburg to the Emirates Stadium has been agreed, but now the player's wage demands look set to destroy the plan.

Arshavin, who already earns in the region of 100,000 a week, is said to want an annual salary of 3.5m a year after tax - a wage which Arsenal are not prepared to pay.
