Danish racer Rene Bach will find himself in the highly unusual situation of riding for and against Peterborough on the same day.

Workington star Bach has been booked by Panthers bosses for their Good Friday home clash against Ipswich (7.30pm) – the second part of a mouth-watering Premier League Cup double-header.

Bach will step into the number one slot vacated by Ryan Fisher who is required by Elite League club Coventry for their clash against Leicester at night as Ipswich’s Richie Worrall will be back in the Suffolk team’s colours having ridden for Belle Vue at noon.

Originally Bach was set to be Ipswich’s guest, but Worrall is now able to take his place in the visitors line-up.

Earlier in the day Bach will be part of a Witches side aiming to consolidate their position at the Southern Group summit with victory at Foxhall (2.15pm).

But the fact Bach will step from one team into the other is no issue for Panthers co-promoter Trevor Swales.

He said: “I’ve got no qualms about Rene riding for both teams during the course of the day.

“We were initially planning to use rider replacement to cover for ‘Fish’, but then the opportunity to draft in Rene arose.”

“What happens in the first meeting at Ipswich will have no bearing on the return clash at the Showground.

Swales revealed a deal has been agreed for Bach to join current club Workington as a full asset from Panthers.
