DESPITE a hole in one, 13-handicap Jack Baker, the Ufford Park junior captain, took second place to Thomas Bayley on count back in the club's junior open championship.

Both players had 38 Stableford points, as did third-placed Marmaduke Hatfield from Thorpeness.

Baker's first ace came at the 140-yard third hole. He used a nine iron.

Charlotte Fawdry of Ipswich won the girls' prize with 37 points. The team prize went to Fynn Valley represented by Harry Hogg, Sam Renville and Kyle Proctor. Hogg and Bayley won the nearest the pin prizes.
