Ipswich Town keeper Bartosz Bialkowski says he has received interest in him from other clubs, understood to be in China, but is close to signing a new contract at Portman Road.

The 28-year-old’s current deal expires in the summer but the former Southampton stopper has told the club website that he is looking forward to extending his stay in Suffolk.

“I’m really close to signing a new contract here and I’m very happy about that,” said Bialkowski, who produced one of the saves of the season from Korey Smith’s deflected shot in the Blues’ 2-1 defeat at Bristol City last weekend.

“It’s a great place to be and I’m looking forward to staying here for a longer period.

“I’ve had phone calls asking if I would be interested in something else but I’m not. I’ve not looked at anything else but staying here.”
