DARREN Bent made it three goals in his last three games by scoring against his favourite goalkeeper, writes Derek Davis.

"I always give Lee (Grant) a bit of stick when I score against him but then to do it in 26 seconds gave me loads of ammunition," Town's young striker said of his Under-21 England team-mate after the Blues beat Derby 2-1 on Saturday.

"Even at half-time I was giving him stick, which was a bit of fun but the main thing was Ipswich won. I always score against him, even in Under-21 training and he suggested I put a bet on scoring because I always manage it."

Bent's opener came virtually straight from the kick off when he won the race to a loose ball and lobbed it over his old adversary.

"I saw him coming out and thought he was going to clear it but then he seemed to back-track, so I looked to lift it over him and be on target."

Grant did manage to save a couple more Bent efforts but the 69th minute own goal came from a rebound after a powerful shot on the run by the Blues teenager. Bent has now netted in four of his past five games since returning from a month-long injury lay off. He opened his latest run with a goal at Derby.
