FORMER Ipswich Town striker Marcus Bent has signed for Birmingham after changing his mind about a move to Championship foes Cardiff.

The ex-Blues hitman failed to turn up for his medical at Cardiff and has now signed a three-year contract at St Andrews in a deal reportedly worth more than £1million.

Bent, 30, scored seven goals in 31 games for Wigan in the Premier League last year.

Meanwhile, another ex-Town player is also on the move - winger Darren Currie turned down a chance to return to Brighton in favour of a three-year deal at Chesterfield.
