Bartosz Bialkowski, Darren Ambrose and Conor Sammon all featured for an Ipswich Town side that suffered a 5-1 defeat in a behind-closed-doors friendly at West Ham United this afternoon.
Winger Matthias Fanimo netted four times, including a first half hat-trick, with summer signing Diafra Sakho scoring the other for a Hammers side which included new Barcelona loanee Alex Song, England Under-21 international Ravel Morrison and experienced keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Sammon – on a season-long loan from Derby County – scored Town’s consolation goal.
Ex-West Ham midfielder Jack Collison, who, like Ambrose, is a free agent and has been training with the Blues, did not feature.
Bialkowski saved a spot-kick in the first half, but Fanimo headed in the rebound. Sammon’s goal was a poacher’s finish inside the six yard box following a corner.
