A group of very privileged pupils will get their first taste of the Olympics early next month.
As part of the “The Young Games Maker Volunteer Programme”, the pupils will be on-track assistants at the Paralympic track and field events, to be held at the new Olympic Stadium, in August.
But before all that, the students from the Sports College taking part will attend a special training day at the Olympic Park on May 4 and then, four days later, will be taking their first steps as volunteers at the Paralympics test event.
The event is the London Disability Grand Prix, and will give athletes, officials and volunteers a feel of the facilities at the Stratford-based stadium.
