Sudbury’s Billy Bird lost for the first time in his professional career on Saturday night.

The 22-year-old lost on points to Mike Byles after six rounds of boxing at Bethnal Green’s world famous York Hall.

Bird, the cousin of former Colchester boxer and world title challenger Lee Purdy, now has 10 wins and one defeat from 11 fights.
