How impressed and who had more to give? Andy Warren hands out his player grades after Town’s 1-1 draw at Bolton.

Bartosz Bialkowski

Did well to stop a Josh Vela effort inside the opening minute but had little to do other than pick the ball out of the net for Gary Madine’s goal. 6

Dominic Iorfa

The right-back went into this game hoping to put on a good enough show in order to keep his place ahead of the returning Jordan Spence. Positionally, this was a better display than in recent weeks but it seems unlikely he has done enough to fend off Spence. 6

Luke Chambers

The Town defence struggled to cope with Madine, both in the air and on the ground, throughout the afternoon. The skipper did a good job of helping new man Carmeron Carter-Vickers through the game, though. 6

Cameron Carter-Vickers

A promising first-half performance at a ground where he scored the winner on his Sheffield United debut in September. No goal this time, but some excellent touches and confident passes on an afternoon where he had to cope with Madine. 7

Jonas Knudsen

Back at left-back and was as solid as every, all while getting forward to help out in attack. Threatened to unleash a ‘famous’ long throw in the second period as he infuriated the home crowd by drying the ball with a towel, only to ultimately deliver the ball short. 6

Cole Skuse

Took a whack to the ankle from Gary Madine in the first half and was unable to carry on. He too was guilty of giving the ball away in the first half on occasion but his presence was still beneficial. 6

Callum Connolly

Guilty of giving the ball away on a number of occasions in the first half, just like so many of his team-mates. Was combative but seemed to lack the bite in the tackle which has made the young loanee so important to Town. 6

Bersant Celina

Looked the most likely Town player to make anything happen in the first half but, just like so many of his team-mates today, was a long way from his best before being replaced. 6

David McGoldrick

A long way from his best. Looked sluggish in the first half as none of his flicks looked like coming off and did little to give Town an attacking threat. His was the final assist for the goal. 5

Martyn Waghorn

Another player to play his part in the equaliser and he could even have won the game had his effort snuck inside the post as added time neared. Contributed some neat touches but has certainly had better games. Needs a goal of his own, having gone nine without one. 6

Joe Garner

Was on hand to tap home the equaliser at the end of a free-flowing move but more than met his match this afternoon in the form of David Wheater. He was dominated in the air by a bigger man and had little other by way of chances. 6

Stephen Gleeson (Skuse 46)

Neat, tidy, used the ball well and played a part in the equaliser. Overall, a decent debut. McCarthy was suitably impressed, insisting he though his new signing was ‘a mile above’ everyone else. 7

Freddie Sears (Celina 85)

Had very little impact, once again, during his cameo appearance. Needs more time than this if he is going to find any kind of form. 6

Luke Hyam (Connolly 90)

Didn’t have time to make an impact. 6
