DUTCHMAN Lars Boom has won the Tour of Britain by 36 seconds after taking two stage victories and two second-placed finishes.
Boom was crowned champion yesterday after Maldon’s Alex Dowsett won stage 8a (time trial) and speedster Mark Cavendish dashed to victory at Whitehall.
Cavendish took the points jersey while Essex’s Russell Hampton finished second in the King of the Mountains.
The route reached Suffolk and Norfolk on Saturday with riders beginning at Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds and travelling through venues such as Ipswich and Diss before arriving in Sandringham.
Lithuanian Gediminas Bagdonas sealed victory on that particular route
