BRETT Taylor of Chelmsford, the 2006 PGA Trainees' champion who made a name for himself by finishing 24th equal in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May, was a comfortable winner of the November winter four-ball event at Felixstowe Ferry.

BRETT Taylor of Chelmsford, the 2006 PGA Trainees' champion who made a name for himself by finishing 24th equal in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May, was a comfortable winner of the November winter four-ball event at Felixstowe Ferry.
At Wentworth Taylor ended level with Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington and Simon Khan.
Taylor's round of 65 at the seaside was four shots better than Andy Cotton of Ufford Park and Andrew Pestell of Chelmsford. Darren Turner returned the fourth-best professional score with 70.
Andy Cotton and John Banks won the team event with 46 points, one better than Dick Seaman and Chris Veitch.
Pestell and Jim Drake were third on 44.
