Britannia ruled at the Suffolk Sportshall Games last week, the Ipswich primary retaining the title they won last year.

The chase for top position went to the final two races, and in the end it was Britannia (322 points) that pipped Westley Middle School by a very narrow margin of eight points,

This year is proving to be a successful one already for Britannia - the girls’ under-11s table tennis team qualifying for a regional event, in Grantham, at the end of this month.

Britannia qualified for the Sportshall Games final at South Lee School’s new sports facility, courtesy of their second-placed finish in the Ipswich event, behind Gorseland.

Results: 8th Keddington Primary 94 points; 7th SRH Debenham 144 points; 6th Grove Primary 178 Points; 5th Gorseland Primary 216 points; 4th Beyton Middle 234 Points; 3rd St Louis Primary 240 Points; 2nd Westley Middle 314 Points; 1st Britannia Primary 322 Points.
