Bury St Edmunds’ Phil Congdon earned a bronze medal in the Men’s Eight Final at the European Rowing Championships in Belgrade, on Sunday.
He was in the Great Britain team that finished behind Russia and gold medal lists Germany. Bury St Edmunds’ Lucinda Gooderham was in the GB boat that finished fifth in the Women’s Quadruple Sculls final. Belarus won gold and were over five seconds faster than the GB boat.
Germany were second and Poland third.
