One of Suffolk’s oldest sporting tournaments celebrates its 90th birthday this year.

The Bury and West Suffolk Tennis Tournament, held at Culford Sports and Tennis Centre, has been a key fixture in the Suffolk sporting calendar for decades.

And entries are now open for this year’s event, which will run from July 31 to August 5.

This year’s anniversary tournament boasts £800 in prize money across age groups ranging from 8 and under mini red to the Open singles and doubles.

The 2016 event saw more than 250 players entered and tournament chairman Susan Glasswell said they’re hoping for even more this year. She added that they are organising a drinks party to mark the 90th anniversary for everyone who has been involved over the years.

Entry forms can be downloaded at www.burywestsuffolktt.co.uk or on the LTA website with code SUF17SO539.
