Bury Spectrum Gymnastics Club is probably the least experienced of all the Gym Clubs in the Eastern Region where Men's gymnastics is concerned.

The club's boys, however, proved that inexperience is not necessarily a barrier to success when five of them were entered for the Eastern Region Men's Grades Championships which took place recently.

The boys took on the might of the best that the top clubs in the region could offer and produced a fantastic set of results, taking no less than three Regional Champions' titles and all five boys qualified to represent the region at the forthcoming National Championships in Newcastle.

In the Elite Grades sections, Chris Gilbert became Regional under-10 Champion with his score of 49.600 while Gabriel Hannah took fourth place in the under-11 age group to book his ticket to Newcastle.

The NDP Grades saw Matthew Post producing a superb score of 59.650 to become Regional Primary 4 Champion, with club-mate Lewis Jordan taking fourth in that grade to join the Eastern team in the Nationals. Henry Lord produced the club's top score of the competition in the Primary 3 grade which contained the largest number of competitors on the day. Henry's score of 60.950 gave him the Gold medal and the title of Regional Champion. These results were very special to the club and congratulations go to the coaches and best wishes to all five boys in their efforts at National level.
