CAMBRIDGE United's attendances for the first eight home league games have risen by almost 10% compared to the same fixtures last season.
U's Chief Executive Norman Gautrey explained, "We have seen home attendances rise by 9.6% as a direct comparison to the first eight home matches of last season.
"In the current economic climate this is a remarkable trend in contrast to most clubs at the moment. It underlines that not only do we have some of the most loyal and dedicated supporters in the country, but we're also seeing new people flocking to watch football at Cambridge United."
This will be welcome news to supporters as worrying falls in attendances are being reported at many other non-league and league clubs. The U's have enjoyed a good start to the league campaign and currently sit in third place in the table, just two points behind leaders Crawley Town.
