JOHN Terry has this afternoon been named as Fabio Capello's full-time England captain.

Tough-tackling defender Terry took the armband during the Steve McClaren era after previous skipper David Beckham quit following the 2006 World Cup.

But when Capello took charge earlier this year he shared the honour out to four players - Terry, Beckham, Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard - while he decided who would serve in the role.

It was widely expected that Manchester United star Ferdinand would get the nod, but today Capello revealed that he had decided to stick with Chelsea skipper Terry.
