A SPECIAL celebration match will take place during the annual Felixstowe and Suffolk Bowling Tournament, which starts at the club's St Edmunds Road HQ on Monday.

The club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and on Sunday, July 29 it will stage a match between club members and a mixed Suffolk team, starting at 2pm.

Len Fordham, who organises the tournament along with wife Gloria, said that around 350 bowlers had entered this year's fortnight-long event, which is again being sponsored by Kirton Windows.

He said: “Singles entries are slightly down on last year, but other categories have held up well. We are very pleased with the number of entries, bearing in mind other tournaments that are taking place.”
